SpeedLens ("we", "our", "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

1. What we collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Email address — only if you subscribe to a Pro plan. Collected during checkout via Razorpay.
• Subscription status — whether your plan is Free or Pro, stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local.
• Reading statistics — words read today, reads today, and streak count. Stored locally on your device only. Never transmitted to any server.

2. What we do NOT collect

• The text you select or read
• Your browsing history or page URLs
• Keystrokes or clipboard contents
• Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
• Any analytics or behavioural tracking data

SpeedLens has no analytics SDK, no tracking pixels, and makes no third-party network requests at runtime — except to our payment backend when you initiate a subscription.

3. How your email is used

Your email address is used solely to:

• Create and manage your Razorpay subscription
• Send payment receipts and subscription renewal notices
• Respond to support requests you initiate

We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or share your email with third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Payment processing

All payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. SpeedLens never sees or stores your card number, UPI ID, or banking credentials. Razorpay is PCI-DSS compliant. For details, see Razorpay's Privacy Policy.

5. Data storage and retention

Your email and subscription status are stored on our backend server hosted on Railway (cloud infrastructure in Europe). Data is retained for as long as your subscription is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing support@speedlens.in — we will delete your data within 7 days.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Cancel your subscription at any time

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email (if you are a Pro subscriber) or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of SpeedLens after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
